Is this course for you?
-
This course is for you if
- Your court, or the Fine Collection Center, said you can take a Driver Improvement Program
- Your ticket is for speeding or another ordinary moving violation
- You haven't used the program in the last 36 months
- You can finish within 60 days of your plea or conviction
-
It's not for you if
- You haven't asked your court yet. Ask first, then come back
- You have a commercial driver license, or got the ticket in a commercial vehicle
- You want to remove points already on your record. The course only stops the points from this ticket
Missouri law lets a court accept an 8-hour driver-improvement program in place of the points for a ticket (RSMo 302.302).

It covers speeding, careless and imprudent driving, and other ordinary moving violations. It does not cover a violation in a commercial vehicle, or a driver who holds or needs a commercial driver license.
You can use it once in any 36 months, and you must finish within 60 days of your plea or conviction. The conviction still goes on your record; the points for it do not. Missouri suspends a license at 8 points in 18 months. More from the Missouri Department of Revenue.

Questions people actually ask
Still have a question? Ask us before you pay. Real people answer by phone and email.
See every question Do I need the court's permission to use DIP?
Yes. The points are waived only when the court handling your ticket authorizes you to complete a Driver Improvement Program. Ask before you enroll. The course is still worth taking without authorization, but it will not change your record.
How long do I have?
Sixty days from your guilty plea or conviction, set by Missouri. The course is eight hours; start the week you are authorized.
How often can I use DIP to avoid points?
Once in any thirty-six-month period.
Does DIP remove points that are already on my record?
No. It stops the points from the current violation being assessed. Existing points come off on their own: a third after one year with no new conviction, half after two years, all after three.
Does the ticket go away?
No. The conviction records; the points do not. Your insurer can still see the conviction.
How long does the course take?
Eight hours, self-paced. No quizzes. Most people finish across three or four sittings.
What is the final exam like?
Twenty-five questions, twenty correct to pass. Unlimited retakes with different questions and no waiting period.
How does the Department of Revenue find out I finished?
The completion form. The DOR's guidance is that you or the program may mail it to the Driver License Bureau, PO Box 200, Jefferson City, MO 65105-0200. The completed form and your certificate are ready to download the moment you pass. Mail it promptly and give your court a copy if it asked for one.
Is it really $24.99?
Yes. The certificate, the DOR form, unlimited retakes and support are inside that number. There is no processing fee and no upgraded version of the course.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, in full, at any time before you complete the course. After you pass the exam and the certificate is issued, no refund is available.
Can I do this on my phone?
Yes. The course and exam work on a phone, and your progress saves the moment you leave.
Eight hours. One flat price. Sixty days that are already counting.
Enroll the day your court says yes, finish over a week of evenings, and mail one form. That is the whole process.
