DSC Court Fees
⚠ $146 covers court costs plus the $10 non-refundable DSC reimbursement fee. School-zone speeding is not listed as a separately priced DSC tier; construction/maintenance work-zone violations with workers present are ineligible for DSC dismissal. Confirm current total with the court before submitting.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Signed and notarized DSC affidavit (court form)
- •Copy of valid non-commercial Texas driver license
- •Copy of current liability insurance
- •Signed court copy of DSC completion certificate
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Type 3A Texas driving record (from DPS — submit upon course completion)
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: On or before appearance date on citation
- •Completion window: 90 days from affidavit notarization date.
- •CDL holders are ineligible for DSC dismissal.
- •Ineligible offenses include: speeding 25+ mph over limit or above 94 mph, passing a school bus, leaving the scene of a collision with vehicle damage, failure to give information and render aid, and construction/maintenance work-zone violations with workers present.
- •DPS Type 3A driving record costs $10 and can be ordered online at https://txapps.texas.gov/tolapp/txldrcdr/TXDPSLicenseeManager or by mail.
