DSC Court Fees
⚠ $146 total ($10 administrative fee + $136 court cost); no personal checks — cashier's check, money order, or credit card only.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Completed DSC application (no contest or guilty plea)
- •Copy of valid Texas Driver's License or Permit
- •Proof of financial responsibility (current auto liability insurance)
- •Signed affidavit entering plea of no contest or guilty
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Certified driving record from Texas DPS
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: On or before the appear-by date on the notice to appear (mail must be postmarked by that date)
- •Completion window: 90 days from court approval to complete the course and submit the certificate.
- •Do not enroll in a DSC until you receive written permission from the court.
- •Must not have taken a driving safety course within the past 12 months for the same purpose.
- •Ineligible violations include: speeding 25+ mph over the limit, speeding at 95+ mph, passing a school bus, and offenses in construction zones with workers present.
- •CDL holders are not eligible.
