DSC Court Fees
⚠ Court fee is $146 ($10 administrative fee + $136 court costs). Do not enroll in a course until the court approves your request. If you do not hear back within 24 hours, call the court — they may not have received your correspondence.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Plea of no contest or guilty (written request to take DSC)
- •Copy of valid Texas Driver's License
- •Proof of financial responsibility (insurance card/policy with your name, active at time of citation)
- •Payment of $146 (money order, cashier's check, credit card, or cash in person; no personal checks)
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •DSC Certificate of Completion (signed)
- •Certified Type 3A Driving Record from Texas DPS
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: Request must be postmarked on or before the plea due date listed on your notice to appear
- •Completion window: 90 days from court approval to complete the Driver Safety Course.
- •Only moving violations are eligible for DSC dismissal.
- •You must not have taken a DSC for ticket dismissal within the 12 months prior to the date of your citation.
- •Do not enroll in any course until you have received written permission from the court.
- •Completion requires submitting a uniform certificate of course completion from a TDLR-approved course plus a certified driving record from TxDPS.
