How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Written request to take a driver safety course (submitted by appearance date on citation)
- •Proof of current liability insurance
- •Payment by money order or cashier's check payable to Justice of the Peace, Pct 1
- •Notarized affidavit (sent by court after request is received)
- •Court-copy DSC completion certificate
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Copy of driving record / Form 3A (application sent by court after request)
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: On or before appearance date on citation; submit by mail or in person
- •Completion window: 90 days from date of receipt; no extensions.
- •Precinct 1 serves two locations: Willis (300 S Danville St, Willis TX 77378, (936) 539-7801) and Montgomery (19380 Hwy 105 W, Suite 507, Montgomery TX 77356, (936) 788-8374). Seed phone (936) 539-7801 corresponds to the Willis location.
- •Presiding judge: Judge Wayne L. Mack.
- •After court receives your request, they will mail you a receipt, affidavit, and Form 3A application for your driving record.
- •Must state you have not taken defensive driving to dismiss a ticket in the past 12 months.
