How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Copy of valid Texas Driver's License
- •Proof of financial responsibility (valid Texas auto liability insurance in effect at time of offense)
- •Uniform certificate of course completion from a TEA-approved driving safety course
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Certified copy of driving record from Texas DPS (due within 90-day completion window)
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: On or before the plea due date shown on your notice to appear (mail: postmarked by that date via certified mail with return receipt; in-person: present to court by that date)
- •Completion window: 90 days to complete the driving safety course.
- •Criminal e-filing is mandatory as of 09/01/2025.
- •DSC requests can be submitted online through the court portal.
- •Must enter a plea of no contest or guilty with your DSC request.
- •Commercial Driver's License holders are not eligible for DSC.
