How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Valid Texas driver license or proof of active-duty U.S. military status
- •Proof of liability insurance (in defendant's name)
- •Payment of court costs (contact court for amount) plus $10 nonrefundable DSC reimbursement fee
- •DSC completion certificate (submit within 90 days)
- •Affidavit of non-completion (no DSC taken in preceding 12 months from offense date)
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Certified DPS driving record (Type 3A)
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: On or before the appearance date shown on citation; DSC must be requested in person — do not take course before obtaining court approval
- •Completion window: 90 days from date of plea/request.
- •DSC must be requested in person at the court before enrolling in any course.
