DSC Court Fees
⚠ $147 non-refundable court cost/administrative fee; payable by money order or cashier's check to Justice of the Peace, Precinct One. You must request DSC approval from the court before taking the course.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Copy of ticket/citation
- •Copy of valid Texas driver's license
- •Proof of liability insurance
- •Driver's record (Form 3a from DPS, requested within 30 days of citation)
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •DSC Certificate of Completion (signed)
- •Certified Type 3A Driving Record from Texas DPS
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: On or before your appearance date
- •DSC not available for: speeding 25+ mph over limit, construction zone with workers present, or passing a school bus.
- •Commercial driver's license holders are ineligible.
- •Must not have completed a DSC within 12 months of citation date.
- •Court encourages telephone, online, or mail contact rather than in-person visits when possible.
- •Online ticket payment also available at certifiedpayments.net (code 3335284).
