How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Completed plea form (back of citation or downloaded from court website)
- •Payment of $144 court costs (money order or cashier's check)
- •Copy of valid Texas driver license
- •Copy of citation
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •DSC Certificate of Completion (signed)
- •Certified Type 3A Driving Record from Texas DPS
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: On or before the appearance date on the citation
- •Do NOT enroll in a driver safety course until you receive written approval from the court.
- •Court will mail an approval letter if DSC request is accepted.
- •Drivers under 25 may be required to complete the Alive at 25 course in addition to the DSC.
- •CDL holders are ineligible for DSC dismissal.
- •Ineligible if a court-ordered DSC was completed within 12 months of the offense date.
