How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Written request / plea form (postmarked by appearance date on citation)
- •Court costs of $144 by money order or cashier's check
- •Copy of driver safety course completion certificate (sent after court approval)
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •DSC Certificate of Completion (signed)
- •Certified Type 3A Driving Record from Texas DPS
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: Postmarked by appearance date on citation
- •Do NOT enroll in the course until you receive written approval from the court.
- •Court mailing address: Justice of the Peace, Pct. #2, P.O. Box 5, Smithville, TX 78957.
- •CDL holders and those who completed a court-ordered DSC within the prior 12 months are ineligible.
- •Speeding 95 mph or more, or more than 25 mph over the limit, is also ineligible.
