How to look up and pay a Missouri ticket on Case.net

By Road Ready Safety · Checked against Missouri law on

Short answer

Search Case.net by case number or by name, open your case, and click Plead and Pay to see the fine and court costs. Looking doesn't plead you guilty. Finishing the payment does. If no Plead and Pay button appears, your ticket needs a court appearance.

How do I find my ticket?

  1. Go to Case.net on the Missouri courts' website.
  2. Choose Case Number Search and enter the number from your citation. On a traffic ticket it's in the upper corner.
  3. Or choose Litigant Name Search, pick the court, and enter your last name.

City courts use the same system. Kansas City tells drivers to select Jackson County, 16th Judicial Circuit, then Kansas City Municipal. St. Louis tells drivers to select City of St. Louis, 22nd Judicial Court.

Beware of look-alike sites. The Kansas City court passes along a notice from the state courts to avoid fake Case.net websites.

How do I see what I owe?

Open the case and click Plead and Pay. The button shows the full amount due, fines and court costs together. St. Louis's court says you "can stop here if you do not want to proceed at this time."

How do I pay?

Select Plead and Pay, click Continue to Plead, and follow the steps. You pay the whole amount, plus a convenience fee for a card. An electronic check has a flat fee of 50 cents.

If you got more than one citation, repeat the process for each.

What if there's no Plead and Pay button?

The ticket isn't eligible, and you have to appear in court on the date on the citation. See tickets that require a court appearance.

What does paying mean?

A guilty plea and a waiver of your hearing. The conviction goes to the Department of Revenue, which assesses the points.

What should I do before I pay?

Decide about the Driver Improvement Program. It keeps the points off, but the court has to approve it. Call the clerk and ask whether the court will approve it for your ticket and how to request it. Should you just pay?

I already went to court. How do I pay the balance?

Use Pay By Web on Case.net. Payments usually post within one business day. Pay within 30 days of your court date to avoid a time payment fee.

Will a court call me for payment?

No. The Missouri courts say no one from a court will ever contact you by phone and ask for payment or card information.
