How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Driving Safety Course Request Form (signed)
- •Proof of auto liability insurance
- •Copy of valid Texas driver's license
- •DSC fee payment ($146)
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •DSC Certificate of Completion (signed)
- •Certified Type 3A Driving Record from Texas DPS
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: Must request DSC dismissal and pay fee before original citation due date
- •Completion window: 90 days from court approval to complete course and submit signed certificate.
- •Not eligible if charged with speeding 25+ mph over limit, driving 95+ mph, passing a school bus, or offense in a work zone with workers present.
- •Cannot use DSC dismissal more than once in a 12-month period.
- •Mail submissions must be postmarked no later than original citation due date.
