How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Uniform certificate of driving safety course completion
- •Valid Texas driver's license (or military service affidavit if applicable)
- •Proof of automobile liability insurance or other proof of financial responsibility
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Type 3A driving record from Texas DPS showing no DSC within 12 months preceding offense date
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: On or before the appearance date on your citation
- •Completion window: 90 days from court approval.
- •Do NOT take the course until you receive an order from the court allowing you to do so.
- •Minors under 17 must appear in court with a parent or guardian.
- •CDL holders are ineligible.
- •Ineligible if DSC was taken within 12 months of the current offense date.
