  • Driving Safety Course Request Form
  • Valid Texas driver's license (or military service documentation)
  • Proof of automobile liability insurance or financial responsibility
  • Certificate of course completion (upon finishing)
  • Affidavit confirming no prior DSC within 12 months (upon finishing)

After Completing the Course — Submit These

  • Driving record from Texas DPS (upon finishing)

Important Deadlines & Local Rules

  • Request deadline: On or before appearance date on citation
  • Completion window: 90 days from court approval.

  • CDL holders are ineligible for DSC.
  • Defendants who have taken DSC within the last 12 months are ineligible.
  • Speeding more than 24 MPH over the limit, passing a school bus, or fleeing a police officer are disqualifying offenses.
