How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Driving Safety Course Request Form
- •Valid Texas driver's license (or military service documentation)
- •Proof of automobile liability insurance or financial responsibility
- •Certificate of course completion (upon finishing)
- •Affidavit confirming no prior DSC within 12 months (upon finishing)
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Driving record from Texas DPS (upon finishing)
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: On or before appearance date on citation
- •Completion window: 90 days from court approval.

- •CDL holders are ineligible for DSC.
- •Defendants who have taken DSC within the last 12 months are ineligible.
- •Speeding more than 24 MPH over the limit, passing a school bus, or fleeing a police officer are disqualifying offenses.
