  • Signed and notarized Driver's Safety Course Request Affidavit
  • Payment for court fee (Money Order, Check, Visa, or Mastercard)

After Completing the Course — Submit These

  • DSC Certificate of Completion (signed)
  • Certified Type 3A Driving Record from Texas DPS

Important Deadlines & Local Rules

  • Request deadline: Within the time prescribed by law — call court at (972) 547-1880 to confirm; failure to provide proof may result in a warrant and additional fees.
  • Court is located at 1025 S. State Highway 78, Lavon, TX 75166 — serves the eastern Collin County area including Lavon, Wylie, and Sachse.
  • Email is the most efficient way to reach clerks; filings are NOT accepted by email.
  • DSC ineligible if: speeding 24+ mph over limit, passing a school bus, fleeing a police officer, or if a DSC was completed within the past 12 months.
  • Deferred disposition (up to 180 days probation) is an alternative dismissal option; not available for speeding 30+ mph over limit or tickets from a traffic accident.
