How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Signed affidavit (notarized if mailed) — use court-prepared form
- •Proof of liability insurance
- •DSC completion certificate (court copy, signed by defendant) — submit within 90 days
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Texas DPS driving record ($10 fee; order at txapps.texas.gov)
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: On or before your court appearance date
- •Completion window: 90 days from request approval.
- •Do not take a driving safety course without pre-approval from the court listed on your ticket.
- •Must plead guilty or no contest and pay court costs at the time of the DSC request.
- •Deferred adjudication also available on most violations (30–180 day deferral period).
- •Mail payments must be money order or cashier's check; no personal checks accepted.
