⚠ Court costs and DSC administrative fees total $140.00, due immediately upon receiving the Order Granting DSC.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Request for Driver Safety Course form
- •Affidavit (sworn statement that DSC has not been used for ticket dismissal in last 12 months; must be notarized)
- •Copy of Driver License
- •Copy of current Proof of Insurance
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Type 3A Driving Record from DPS
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: By or before the court-issued appearance date
- •Completion window: 90 days from the date of the Order Granting DSC.
- •You must be approved by the court BEFORE taking the Driver Safety Course.
- •Not eligible if speeding 25+ mph over the limit, driving 95+ mph, passing a school bus, moving violation in a construction zone with workers present, hit and run, or fleeing.
- •CDL holders are not eligible.
- •Payment of $140.00 is due immediately upon receiving the Order Granting DSC.
