Which one fits you?

Online fits if you want to finish around work or school, on your phone, and pay less. In person fits if you also want lessons or a road test from the same school, or you learn better in a classroom. The certificate is the same either way.

We sell the online course only. For a classroom near you, TDLR’s driver education provider search lists every licensed school.

Common questions

Is online adult drivers ed accepted in Texas?

Yes. A TDLR-approved online course issues the same ADE-1317 certificate as a classroom course, and DPS accepts either.

Is in-person adult drivers ed more expensive?

Usually. In-person classes ran $75 to $130 at the 10 schools we checked on October 29, 2026, against a median online price of $39.95.

When is in-person worth it?

When you also want behind-the-wheel lessons or a road test at the school, which local schools sell together, or when you learn better in a room with an instructor. A road test at a school runs about $70 to $199.

Does Road Ready Safety offer an in-person class?

No. We sell the online course only, for $29.95. For a classroom near you, TDLR’s driver education provider search lists every licensed school.
