How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Signed written request for DSC (submitted on or before appearance date)
- •Valid Texas driver's license or permit
- •Proof of financial responsibility (insurance)
- •TDLR-approved course completion certificate
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •DSC Certificate of Completion (signed)
- •Certified Type 3A Driving Record from Texas DPS
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: On or before the appearance date on the citation
- •Completion window: 90 days from court approval (confirm with court).
- •Precinct 2 is located at the Harrison County Courthouse in Marshall, not Hallsville (Precinct 3 is in Hallsville).
- •Civil case clerk: Devan Sturdivant. Criminal matters — call the court directly.
- •DSC eligibility: moving violations under Subtitle C of the Texas Transportation Code only; course must not have been taken for dismissal within the prior 12 months.
