How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Proof of current auto insurance
- •court costs (call to confirm) money order (court costs and mandatory county fee)
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Type 3A Texas DPS driving record (available at www.texas.gov)
- •TDLR-issued certificate of completion (signed by defendant)

- •Request deadline: On or before appearance date on citation
- •Completion window: 90 days from court acceptance of DSC request.

- •Judge: Juan Mendoza Jr. (as of 2026).
- •DSC available for non-CDL holders only. Driver must not have taken a DSC for dismissal within the prior 12 months.
- •If not completed by due date, a show cause hearing is required and the full citation amount will be assessed upon conviction; a Capias Pro Fine (arrest warrant) may also be issued.
