DSC Court Fees
⚠ Exact cash required if paying in person; court cannot make change. Fees cover court costs and state fees for DSC dismissal.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Copy of valid current Texas driver license OR valid U.S. Military driver license
- •Current valid auto insurance showing applicant as covered driver (valid for 90+ days)
- •Sworn affidavit confirming no DSC taken at any court within 12 months of the violation date
- •Original citation
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Type 3-A driving record from the Texas DPS website
- •Original signed DSC Certificate of Completion (TDLR Type 3-A approved course; submitted by day 90 of plea)
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: Must request DSC dismissal no later than your initial 'Appear By' date (20 business days from the date of the citation). Required documents must also be submitted within 20 business days.
- •Completion window: 90 days from date of plea to submit the original signed DSC Certificate of Completion.
- •DSC ineligibility: cannot have completed a DSC course for dismissal at any court within 12 months of the violation date.
- •DSC ineligibility: out-of-state driver license holders, Class A or B CDL holders, alleged speed 25+ mph over limit or 95+ mph, construction zone violations, school bus passing, emergency vehicle violations, accident-related violations, or other serious traffic violations.
- •Payment methods accepted: debit/credit card (online at govrec.com, by phone, or in person), exact cash, money order, or cashier's check payable to City of Rhome. Personal checks NOT accepted.
- •The court is a Court of Record as established by City Ordinance in 2012.
