DSC Court Fees
⚠ Court admin fee confirmed across New Fairview's own pages for all three courts it administers (New Fairview, Boyd, Paradise). This is the court administrative fee only; the DSC course fee and certified driving record are separate costs.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Driver's Safety Course Affidavit (must be signed before a notary or court clerk)
- •Copy of valid Class C Texas Driver's License (CDL not eligible)
- •Proof of current liability insurance (must list the cited driver)
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Signed certificate of completion from a TDLR-approved Driver Safety Course
- •Texas DPS Type 3A certified driving record
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: On or before the Initial Appearance Date printed on your citation — request must be submitted PRIOR to completing or paying for the course.
- •Completion window: 90 days from court approval to complete the course and submit all documents..
- •New Fairview Municipal Court operates as a Court of Record (as of May 1, 2023) and administers municipal court services for three Wise County cities under interlocal agreements: New Fairview (own city), Boyd (agreement signed July 20, 2023), and Paradise (agreement signed April 28, 2025). - •DSC is not available for CDL holders, speeding 25+ mph over the limit, violations in a school zone (school-zone fee applies instead), violations in a construction zone with workers present, or if a DSC was used to dismiss a ticket in the past 12 months.
