How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Copy of driver's license
- •Proof of financial responsibility (current liability insurance in your name)
- •Payment of $144.00 (or $169.00 for school zone)
- •Written request/plea of 'no contest' or 'guilty' with handwritten signature (for mail requests)
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •DSC Certificate of Completion (signed)
- •Certified Type 3A Driving Record from Texas DPS
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: Submit the DSC request by your appearance date.
- •Do NOT take the course or request your driving record until you have received approval from the Municipal Court.
- •Eligibility: at least 17 years old; valid Texas driver's license or non-commercial military ID; speeding no more than 24 MPH over the posted limit; current liability insurance in your name; not completed a DSC to dismiss a citation within the last 12 months; violation not in a construction zone with workers present; not while passing a school bus.
- •Certified driving records are available through texas.gov or by mail using the DR-1 Form.
