DSC Court Fees

Standard Texas DSC fee is typically $144 for moving violations and $169 for school zone violations, but varies by court.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Plea of 'no contest' or 'guilty' (handwritten signature on mailed/written requests)
- •Copy of driver's license (valid Texas DL or Military ID; non-CDL)
- •Proof of financial responsibility (current liability insurance)
- •DSC fee (confirm amount with court)
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •DSC Certificate of Completion (signed)
- •Certified Type 3A Driving Record from Texas DPS
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: Request must be made on or before your appearance date; after that date, judicial approval is required.
- •Eligibility: no DSC dismissal completed within the last 12 months and not currently taking DSC for another violation.
- •Speeding violation must not exceed the posted limit by more than 24 MPH; must be at least 17; not in a construction zone with workers present or while passing a school bus.
- •Do NOT take the course or order your driving record until you receive approval from the Municipal Court.
- •Course must be Texas Education Agency (TEA) approved.
