DSC Court Fees
⚠ Fee replaces the price of the citation. Individual costs and fees apply per eligible offense. A surcharge applies for card payments. No personal checks or payments by phone accepted. No American Express accepted. If DSC payment is returned, the agreement will be vacated by the Court.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Signed plea of guilty or no contest and written request for DSC (must be submitted on or before the appearance date)
- •Copy of valid Texas non-commercial driver's license (out-of-state driver's license allowed for active military personnel and dependents with proof of military status)
- •Printed copy of current vehicle insurance ID card (must show your name OR the VIN of the vehicle)
- •DSC fee payment of $144.00 (or $169.00 for school zone violation)
- •3A certified copy of Texas driving record from DPS (out-of-state licensed military exempt)
- •DSC completion certificate (submitted after course completion, within 90 days of approval)
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •3A certified copy of Texas driving record from DPS (out-of-state licensed military exempt)
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •On or before the appearance date (usually the 14th day after the date of the citation)
- •You have 90 days from court approval to complete the course and submit all documents.
- •DSC can be requested by mail or in person at the Court only — no online DSC request option confirmed.
- •You must submit a plea of guilty or no contest and request DSC in writing to a deputy court clerk, or to the Judge by personally appearing in open court.
- •After your request is approved, you will be notified by mail and have 90 days to submit your DSC completion certificate.
- •You may request multiple eligible offenses received on the same traffic citation be dismissed through the same course completion — individual costs and fees apply per eligible offense.
