DSC Court Fees
⚠ Court costs of $144.00 must be paid by money order or cashier's check (no personal checks); fee increases to $169.00 if the offense occurred in a school zone. Per the official Driving Safety Course Guidelines.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Copy of valid Texas driver's license
- •Copy of valid proof of insurance showing you as a covered driver
- •Signed and notarized Driving Safety Course request citation form
- •Court costs ($144.00, or $169.00 if school zone) by money order or cashier's check
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •certified Texas Driver Record Type 3A (DPS Form 3-A)
- •approved certificate of course completion
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: On or before the appearance date listed on the citation.
- •Completion window: 90 days — prosecution is postponed 90 days to complete the course and submit the driving record; certificate and Type 3A driving record must be submitted on or before the due date. NO EXTENSIONS..
