How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These

- •$10 administrative fee (if required)
- •Proof of financial responsibility (insurance)
- •Valid Texas driver's license or permit (or active-duty military proof)
- •DSC completion certificate (after course)
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Certified DPS driving record (after course)
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: On or before the appearance date shown on the citation.
- •Completion window: 90 days from the date the request is granted to complete the course and submit the certificate and certified DPS driving record..
- •Ineligible if a DSC was completed within the prior 12 months, you are taking a course for another violation, hold a CDL, were charged with speeding 25+ over, school bus passing, or accident-related offenses.
- •In-person/mail payments require money order or cashier's check (no personal checks); card payments by phone carry a 3% fee.
- •Court does not recommend specific schools; course must be state-approved.
