Important Deadlines & Local Rules

  • Request deadline: Must request the course in writing or in person by the appearance date listed on the citation.
  • Completion window: 90 days from the date of the court's order to complete the course and submit the Certificate of Completion and Type 3A driving record. No extensions are granted..
  • DO NOT take a driver safety course until it has been approved by the court.
  • Driving record must be the DPS Type 3A version (certified copy from Texas DPS).
  • Ineligible if: CDL holder; speeding 25+ mph over limit; speeding 95+ mph; passing a loading/unloading school bus; offense in a construction zone with workers present; leaving scene of accident; or failure to give information at an accident scene.
  • Cannot have taken a DSC to dismiss a ticket within the past 12 months.
