DSC Court Fees
⚠ Court cost $144 (non-school zone) / $169 (school zone). The DSC request must be processed by the court before online payment. Course provider charges a separate fee.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Completed Application for Driver Safety Course (PDF on court website)
- •Current proof of financial responsibility (insurance) listing you as a driver
- •Valid Texas driver's license or permit
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •DSC Certificate of Completion (signed)
- •Certified Type 3A Driving Record from Texas DPS
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: Make your request and payment on or before the second appearance date.
- •Get court approval BEFORE taking the course.
- •Must plead guilty or no contest and waive trial.
- •Eligibility: valid TX license/permit; insurance; no DSC in the prior 12 months; no CDL; speed under 25 over and under 90 mph.
- •Ineligible: work/school-zone-with-workers, passing a school bus, reckless driving, fleeing, or an accident.
