⚠ Court costs for DSC dismissal are $146.00; pay by cashier's check or money order made payable to Justice Court Precinct 1. An authorization letter will be mailed before you take the course.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Sworn DSC request statement (court form)
- •Copy of valid Texas driver's license or permit
- •Proof of financial responsibility (liability insurance card)
- •Cashier's check or money order for $146.00 payable to Justice Court Precinct 1
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •DSC Certificate of Completion (signed)
- •Certified Type 3A Driving Record from Texas DPS
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: On or before the appearance date on your citation
- •Completion window: Court will send authorization letter; complete course and return certificate by deadline specified in letter.
- •DSC not available if cited for speeding 25+ mph over limit, 95 mph or above, speeding in a construction zone with workers present, or if you hold a CDL.
- •DSC allowed only once per 12-month period to dismiss a moving violation.
- •Submit DSC request by certified mail with return receipt requested.
- •Cash and personal checks not accepted by mail — cashier's check or money order only.
