DSC Court Fees
This court does not publish its DSC fee schedule online. Call (817) 255-7910 to confirm the exact amount before submitting payment.
Standard Texas DSC fee is typically $144 for moving violations and $169 for school zone violations, but varies by court.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Request for Driver's Safety Course form (submitted on or before appearance date)
- •Valid Texas Class C non-commercial driver's license (or military ID plus out-of-state non-commercial DL for active military/dependents)
- •Proof of financial responsibility (insurance)
- •Payment of court costs and Administration Fee at time of request
- •DSC course completion certificate
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Certified Texas driving record (Type 3A) — $10 by mail or $12 online from DPS
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: On or before your appearance date — you permanently lose the DSC option if the request is not made by the appearance date
- •Completion window: 90 days — case is suspended for 90 days to take the course, obtain a Type 3A driving record from DPS, and return both to the court.
- •You may NOT attend a driving safety course until the court has granted your request — approval first, course second.
- •Court of Record; court is held the 3rd Wednesday and Friday of each month in the City Council Chambers.
- •Ineligible if: speeding 25+ mph over the limit, offense in a construction zone with workers present, failure to give information at an accident scene, leaving the scene, fleeing/eluding police, reckless driving, passing a school bus, DSC taken within the prior 12 months, or holding a Class A/B CDL (even in a personal vehicle).
- •Driving record must be DPS record Type 3A only ($10 by mail, $12 online via txapps.texas.gov).
