Important Deadlines & Local Rules

  • On or before your appearance date shown on your citation — you lose the right to DSC if you do not notify the court by this date
  • You have 90 days from court approval to file proof of completion and driving record to complete the course and submit all documents.
  • You do NOT qualify for DSC if: you completed a driver safety course in the 12 months prior to the citation date; you were cited for speeding 25 mph or more above the posted limit; no insurance / failure to maintain financial responsibility; leaving the scene of a collision; passing a school bus; or cited in a construction zone.
  • Drivers age 24 or younger required to complete a defensive driving course as a condition of deferred disposition.
  • The Grapevine Municipal Court accepts e-filed certificates and driving records — submit to court@grapevinetexas.gov.
  • Driving safety course must be approved by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR).
