DSC Court Fees
⚠ Court fee includes state cost plus a $10 administrative fee. School-zone DSC citations are $169; other qualifying violations are $144.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Valid Texas driver's license
- •Current liability insurance — paper/hard copy only (court cannot accept electronic proof)
- •Payment of state cost plus the $10 administrative fee
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •DSC Certificate of Completion (signed)
- •Certified Type 3A Driving Record from Texas DPS
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: Request with the court clerk before your original court date (on or before the due date on the citation), or by appearing in court and requesting it from the judge.
- •Completion window: Call court to confirm — standard TX completion window is 90 days from the date granted..
- •CDL holders are NOT eligible.
- •Offense must be a traffic offense under Subtitle C, Texas Transportation Code.
- •Insurance proof must be a paper/hard copy — the court cannot accept electronic proof.
- •One traffic violation per year may be dismissed via the DSC.
