How to Request DSC Approval

In-personThe court must receive your request in person no later than 30 days after the citation was issued, and approve it before you take the course (a phone call does not count as a request). Court at 101 A Bascom Road, Whitehouse, TX 75791.

To Request Approval — Submit These

  • Valid Texas driver's license (must be presented)
  • Proof of insurance with you listed as a covered driver

After Completing the Course — Submit These

  • Certificate of completion from a 6-hour driver's safety course (after course)

Important Deadlines & Local Rules

  • Request deadline: Court must receive the request in person no later than 30 days after the citation was issued, and approve it before you take the course.
  • Completion window: Complete the 6-hour course and provide the certificate to the court within 90 days..
  • Do NOT register for or begin a course until you've submitted your request and paid court costs.
  • One DSC dismissal per year by law.
  • Ineligible if: not a moving violation; CDL holder; no valid Texas license; no-insurance ticket without proof; speeding 25+ over; DSC approved within the last 12 months; or outstanding warrants.
  • School-zone DSC, insurance deferrals, and payment plans must be handled in office.
