DSC Court Fees

How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Valid Texas Driver's License or permit (military members may be exempt)
- •Proof of insurance / Financial Responsibility
- •Plea of Nolo Contendere (No Contest) or Guilty
- •Completed Driving Safety Course Request/Affidavit form
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Certified driving record from Texas DPS (ordered after court grants permission)
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: On or before your court appearance date listed on the citation.
- •Completion window: 90 days to complete the 6-hour course from the date the Judge grants permission..
- •Do NOT take a driving safety course without first obtaining permission from the Court of Record.
- •Course may be completed online or in-person; it is a 6-hour state-approved course.
- •Upon successful completion the offense is dismissed and not reported as a conviction.
- •Drivers age 24 or younger must complete a driving safety course as part of deferred disposition eligibility.
