DSC Court Fees
⚠ Standard $144 / school zone $169, paid to the court. A certified DPS driving record is also required ($10 by mail / $12 online, paid to DPS).
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Copy of valid Texas driver's license (CDL holders not eligible)
- •Proof of financial responsibility (insurance)
- •Copy of the citation (when requesting by mail)
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Certified copy of driving record from Texas DPS
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •You may dispose of one moving violation per year via a driving safety course.
- •Not eligible if traveling 25+ mph over the limit, if you used the option within the prior 12 months, or if currently taking the course for another violation.
- •CDL holders are not eligible.
- •Course must be state-approved and may be taken anywhere in Texas.
- •Not available for work-zone or school-zone violations with workers/children present.
