Standard Texas DSC fee is typically $144 for moving violations and $169 for school zone violations, but varies by court.
How to Request DSC Approval

- •Completed Driving Safety Course Affidavit
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Certificate of completion from a TDLR-approved DSC
- •Certified Texas driving record from DPS (Type 3A)
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Completion window: 90 days from the date of your request and payment to complete the course and return all evidence. The court cannot extend this..
- •Driving record must be DPS Type 3A.
- •Do NOT send password-protected files when emailing documents.
- •Allow ~3 weeks for the certificate and DPS record to be mailed; order early.
- •Eligibility: valid non-commercial TX license + insurance at time of violation; moving violation; no DSC in the prior 12 months. CDL and offenses like passing a school bus / work zone with workers do not qualify.
- •Court is at 1317 4th Avenue (not the 16th St City Hall).
