How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Valid Texas driver's license (or active military ID)
- •Proof of current Texas liability insurance
- •Court costs / state fees (full payment)
- •Notarized DSC Request Form (for mail/email/fax)
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •signed completion certificate
- •Type 3A certified driving record from Texas DPS
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: On or before the response/appearance date on the citation, or within 20 days of issuance, whichever is later (10-day grace).
- •Completion window: 90 days from the request date (10-day grace for submission)..
- •Eligible for ONE moving violation under Transportation Code Subtitle C.
- •Ineligible: speeding 25+ over or 95+ mph, no valid TX license, no current TX insurance, DSC in the last 12 months, or CDL holders; also work-zone-with-workers, passing a school bus, reckless driving, fleeing, hit-and-run.
- •Non-completion: show cause hearing, conviction, fine, possible warrant.
- •Official domain is cityofvidor.gov; court closed Fridays except warrant services.
