How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Valid Texas driver license and current liability insurance
- •Driving Safety Course completion certificate (submitted to the court after course completion)
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Certified driver record — Record Type 3A (required when requesting the Driving Safety Course)
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: Must request the Driving Safety Course before the citation's appearance/due date — contact the court to confirm.
- •Completion window: 90 days to complete the course and provide the Court with the required documents once the request is granted..
- •Once your DSC request is granted, you have 90 days to complete the course and provide the court with the required documents.
- •A driver record (Record Type 3A) must be supplied when requesting the Driving Safety Course.
- •The court office does NOT answer phone calls on Wednesdays.
- •Do not pay the fine online if you intend to request a Driving Safety Course instead — paying the fine is a guilty plea.
