DSC Court Fees
⚠ Fees apply to violations on/after Jan 1, 2020 ($144 / $169 school zone); pre-2020 violations are $134 / $159. Pay the court when you request the DSC option.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Valid Texas driver's license
- •Proof of liability insurance listing you as a covered driver
- •DSC fee payment
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Certified copy of driving record
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Completion window: 90 days to complete the course after the DSC request is approved..
- •Eligibility: valid TX license, liability insurance, no DSC used in the past 12 months, and a DSC-eligible offense.
- •Ineligible offenses include CDL violations, passing a stopped school bus, work-zone violations, and speeding 25+ over.
- •Court directs requesters to find approved providers via TDLR.
- •The fastgovpay portal is for citation payment only, not DSC requests.
