DSC Court Fees
⚠ $144.00 court costs for a Driver Safety Course (remaining balance dismissed upon completion). Deferred Disposition is a separate option costing $334.00 in court costs.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Plea of guilty or no contest
- •Proof of current liability insurance valid as of the violation date
- •Completed Driver Safety Course Form
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Certificate of completion (confirm exact post-course docs with the court)
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: Must request before the appearance date listed on the citation.
- •Completion window: 90 days..
- •Eligibility: no driving safety course taken in the prior 12 months, request before the citation appearance date, proof of insurance from the violation date, a guilty/no-contest plea, and court costs paid.
- •NOT eligible if: currently taking a course for another violation; hold/held a CDL; speeding 25+ over or over 90 mph; passing a stopped school bus; failure to stop and provide information; or violation in a construction zone with workers present.
- •Course approval is subject to the judge's discretion.
- •Deferred Disposition is an alternative ($334.00 court costs); drivers under 25 must take a driver safety course as a condition.
