How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These

- •Copy of your Texas driver's license
- •Current proof of insurance listing you as a covered driver
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •DSC Certificate of Completion (signed)
- •Certified Type 3A Driving Record from Texas DPS
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: On or before your appearance/response date listed on the citation; the court states a Driving Course will not be granted after the response date.
- •Completion window: Not published by the court; standard Texas default is 90 days after the request is granted — confirm with the court.
- •Eligibility per the court: must not hold a CDL; must have current liability insurance and a valid Texas driver's license; must not be charged with speeding more than 24 mph over the limit; the violation must not have occurred in a construction zone; and you must not have taken a Driving Course within the last 12 months.
- •Court costs are listed as $129.00 standard / $154.00 school zone.
