DSC Court Fees
⚠ The court's official DSC request form states the defendant must pay court costs of $134.00 plus a $10.00 nonrefundable administrative reimbursement fee (total $144.00). No separate school-zone fee is published; confirm any current amount with the court clerk.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Completed Request for Driving Safety Course approval form (sworn/notarized affidavit electing DSC under Art. 45.0511, C.C.P.)
- •Proof of financial responsibility — automobile liability insurance
- •Payment of court costs $134.00 plus a $10.00 nonrefundable administrative reimbursement fee ($144.00 total)
- •By the 90th day: uniform certificate of DSC course completion
- •By the 90th day: affidavit that defendant was not taking and had not completed a DSC in the 12 months preceding the offense
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •By the 90th day: certified copy of Texas DPS driving record
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: Request and receive the court's permission before the appearance date on the citation (the citation gives 30 days to address the court).
- •Completion window: Complete the course and submit the certificate, the 12-month affidavit, and the certified TX DPS driving record by the 90th day from the date of the request..
