DSC Court Fees
⚠ Court costs payable by money order or cashier's check only — no personal checks. Fee must be paid in full with the written DSC request on or before your appearance date.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Completed DSC Reply Form / affidavit (written request, guilty or nolo plea)
- •Photocopy of valid Texas driver's license (correct address must be listed)
- •Court costs paid in full by money order or cashier's check (no personal checks)
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •After approval: certified Texas DPS driver's license record (Type 3A, order at txapps.texas.gov/tolapp/txldrcdr/TXDPSLicenseeManager) — due within 90 days of request
- •After approval: original signed Court Copy of TEA-approved DSC completion certificate showing 'Thorndale Municipal Court' — due within 90 days of request date
- •After approval: proof of current auto insurance — due within 90 days
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: On or before your appearance date (mail must be postmarked by appearance date). Do not take the course until the court notifies you of approval.
- •Completion window: 90 days from the date of your DSC request.
- •Age restriction: DSC Reply Form is only for persons age 17 and older.
- •Do not enroll in or take the driving safety course until the court notifies you of approval.
- •DSC completion certificate must name 'Thorndale Municipal Court' as the court.
- •CDL holders, non-Texas license holders, offenses 25+ mph over the limit, school bus zone offenses, construction/maintenance work zone offenses, leaving the scene of an accident, and those who completed DSC within the past 12 months are disqualified.
