DSC Court Fees
⚠ Payable by money order to Hewitt Municipal Court. School/construction zone violations are $169.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Completed Driver's Safety Course request form
- •Proof of liability insurance
- •Copy of a valid Texas driver's license
- •Payment ($144 / $169 school zone) by money order
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •DPS certified driving record (Type 3A) — submitted with the certificate of completion
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: On or before your initial court appearance date.
- •Completion window: Certificate of completion due within 90 days of the request..
- •Eligibility: no DSC in the prior 12 months; not currently enrolled in another DSC; non-commercial (Class C) Texas license.
- •Ineligible: passing a stopped school bus, speeding 25+ over, and 95+ mph.
- •Course must be a TDLR-approved Texas certified DSC (any provider).
- •Final packet must include the course certificate and the DPS Type 3A record.
