DSC Court Fees
⚠ The court charges normal court costs plus a $10 administrative fee for the driving safety course. The court does not publish the total dollar amount of court costs online — call the court to confirm your exact total. The fee is due by your appearance date and does not qualify for a payment plan or extension.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Signed, notarized Plea Form
- •Copy of driver's license and/or military ID
- •Current proof of liability auto insurance listing you as a covered driver
- •Money order for court costs plus $10 administrative fee
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Type 3A Certified Driving Record

- •Completion window: 90 days (standard Texas driving safety course completion window)..

- •Eligibility per court: valid Texas non-commercial driver's license (or active-duty military), no CDL, current liability insurance, no DSC completed in the last 12 months. Must enter a guilty or no-contest plea, waive trial rights, and sign an eligibility affidavit.
- •Ineligible if cited for 25+ mph over, 95+ mph, a construction zone with workers present, or passing a stopped school bus.
