How to Request DSC Approval

In-personSubmit to the Municipal Court office at 1824 Sixth Street, Bay City, TX 77414 on or before the due date given by the court.

To Request Approval — Submit These

  • Valid Texas driver's license
  • Proof of financial responsibility (insurance) under Transportation Code ch. 601
  • Signed 'court copy' DSC certificate from a TDLR-approved course (after completion)

After Completing the Course — Submit These

  • DSC Certificate of Completion (signed)
  • Certified Type 3A Driving Record from Texas DPS

Important Deadlines & Local Rules

  • Request deadline: Obtain the court's permission before enrolling — you may not complete a DSC to dismiss your citation until the court grants permission.
  • Completion window: Submit the signed 'court copy' certificate by the due date assigned by the court. Call to confirm the exact timeframe..
  • Eligibility: at least 25 years old, valid Texas license, and no DSC in the previous 12 months.
  • CDL holders are NOT eligible.
