DSC Court Fees
This court does not publish its DSC fee schedule online. Call (361) 786-3512 to confirm the exact amount before submitting payment.
Standard Texas DSC fee is typically $144 for moving violations and $169 for school zone violations, but varies by court.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Written plea of guilty or nolo contendere
- •Citation number and correct mailing address
- •Proof of financial responsibility (current liability insurance)
- •Valid Texas Driver's License or permit
- •Payment of court costs and administrative fee
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Driving record from Texas Department of Public Safety
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: Must request before your appearance date on the citation, in person or in writing
- •Completion window: 90 days from court approval to complete a TEA-approved driving safety course.
- •Court does NOT hold sessions on Fridays; if your citation lists a Friday date, call the court to reschedule.
- •Responses to mail/online DSC requests are sent by mail only — no email notifications.
- •Drivers under 25 with a provisional license must complete DSC AND a DPS examination.
- •Motorcycle operators must complete a motorcycle operator training course instead of a standard DSC.
