How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Money order or cashier's check for $144 (standard) or $169 (school zone)
- •Copy of citation
- •Copy of Texas driver's license
- •Proof of financial responsibility (insurance) listing you as the driver
- •Self-addressed stamped envelope (for mail submissions)
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Texas DPS driving record (request at https://txapps.texas.gov/tolapp/txldrcdr/TXDPSLicenseeManager)
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: Request must be made before your appearance date. Failure to complete results in a show cause hearing.
- •Completion window: 90 days from court approval.
- •Court fax: (903) 322-1001. Judge email: judge@buffalotex.com.
- •DSC ineligibility: speeding 25+ mph over limit, course taken within prior 12 months, leaving accident scene, reckless driving, passing school bus, work zone violation with workers present.
- •No cash accepted — money order or cashier's check required for in-person and mail payments.
- •TDLR-approved DSC course must be completed (online or in-person) within 90 days of court approval.
