DSC Court Fees
This court does not publish its DSC fee schedule online. Call (979) 773-2221 ext. 2 to confirm the exact amount before submitting payment.
Standard Texas DSC fee is typically $144 for moving violations and $169 for school zone violations, but varies by court.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Completed Reply-Request Form (check Defensive Driving box)
- •Proof of valid automobile insurance
- •Valid Texas driver's license
- •Guilty or nolo contendere plea
- •Payment of court costs (money order, cashier's check, or online)
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •DSC Certificate of Completion (signed)
- •Certified Type 3A Driving Record from Texas DPS
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: On or before the appearance date shown on the citation; contact court in writing within 10 days of receiving citation
- •Completion window: 90 days from court approval.
- •DSC not available if cited for: speeding 25+ mph over the limit, passing a school bus, construction-zone offense, hit-and-run, or failure to provide accident information
- •Cannot have completed a DSC for a traffic offense in the preceding 12 months, and cannot currently be enrolled in another DSC for a different violation
- •CDL holders are ineligible
- •After court approval, you must submit within the 90-day window: (1) TDLR-approved DSC completion certificate, (2) certified Type 3A driving record from DPS (https://www.dps.texas.gov/section/driver-license/how-order-driver-record) confirming no course taken in past 12 months, and (3) signed affidavit confirming no concurrent enrollment
